Terms of service

Last updated: 19 May 2026

1. Who we are

CitationDesk is a service operated by Paulo de Vries, sole proprietor, registered in the Netherlands. Contact: [email protected]. By using citationdesk.com or any service we provide, you agree to these terms.

2. What CitationDesk does

CitationDesk polls public AI systems (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini) with queries you define, captures whether those systems cite URLs you control, and reports the result to you via dashboard, email, Slack, or API. The Free Citation Readiness Score audit is also available at /tools/citation-readiness.

3. What we expect from you

4. Payment + cancellation

Paid tiers are monthly, billed in advance via Stripe. You can cancel at any time from the Stripe customer portal linked in your account — no support ticket required. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not pro-rate unused time but we also do not lock you in. If you believe you were charged in error, email us within 30 days and we'll refund within 14 days.

Price changes for new tiers apply only to new customers. Existing subscribers keep their current price for as long as their subscription is uninterrupted. If we change a price for existing subscribers, we'll email you ≥30 days in advance and give you the option to cancel before the new price takes effect.

5. Availability

We target 99.5% uptime on the dashboard and 99% completion on weekly polls. We do not currently offer an SLA; that ships with Enterprise tier. If we have an extended outage we'll credit account time on request.

6. Disclaimers

LLM responses change over time. A citation captured today may disappear tomorrow as models update. CitationDesk reports what we observed when we observed it; we do not guarantee any specific citation outcome on your content. The Citation Readiness Score is a heuristic — a high score correlates with citability but does not guarantee citation.

We are not affiliated with OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, or Google. We poll their public surfaces in compliance with their respective terms of service.

7. Limitation of liability

CitationDesk is provided "as is". Our maximum aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We do not assume liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in the Netherlands. EU consumers retain their statutory rights regardless of this clause.

9. Changes to these terms

We will note any material change at the top of this page and email account holders. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. If you don't accept a change, cancel before the change effective date and you owe nothing further.
